KOICA and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade sign MOU on the Cooperation Program for 2025-2027

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MIIT) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The document underscores the importance of development assistance in fostering social and economic growth in Uzbekistan, in line with KOICA’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) framework. The MOU, covering the period from 2025 to 2027, sets the foundation for collaborative projects in key sectors, including education, healthcare, governance, as well as Digitalization, Green Economy and PPP.

Under this partnership, KOICA and MIIT have identified several priority areas for development. In the education sector, the focus will be on fostering technological expertise and enhancing capacities in job creation and entrepreneurship. In healthcare, both parties will collaborate to modernize the health system and improve healthcare service delivery.

Additionally, efforts will be made to enhance transparency and efficiency in public administration through improved governance and public services. The partnership will also emphasize the importance of digitalization and green economy initiatives as part of the broader cooperation strategy.

The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kudratov L.Sh.  expressed his appreciation for continuous cooperation and stated that this collaboration is expected to deliver long-term benefits for Uzbekistan, helping the nation address its developmental priorities while leveraging South Korea's expertise and resources.

President of KOICA Chang Won Sam reiterated that Uzbekistan is one of Korea’s strategic and reliable partners and expressed his confidence that both KOICA and MIIT will continue to consult regularly to ensure the successful implementation of projects and the sustainability of completed programs.
