KOICA and the Ministry of Internal Affairs launch a new capacity building project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 December 2023, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Record of Discussion (RoD) for implementation of a new project aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Uzbekistan police.

The RoD was signed by the representatives of partner sides - Hee-Sang Kim, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan and Pulat Bobojonov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This project with a budget of US$6 million, planned for implementation during 2023-2027, will focus on developing a comprehensive master plan for the police force, establishing modern training facilities and providing targeted training programs for internal affairs officers. The project also aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing between Uzbekistan and Korea's law enforcement agencies.

This collaboration is expected to lead to significant advancements in the Uzbekistan police force, including improved professionalism, effectiveness, and capacity to respond to emerging challenges. Ultimately, the project will contribute to a more secure and peaceful Uzbekistan for all citizens.
