Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce restrictions on the use by khokimiyats of funds received from the overfulfilled part of the budget. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov announced this during a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
As Gazeta.uz reports, MP Doniyor Ganiev emphasized that despite the law signed in June 2022 preventing the seizure of land without prior compensation, many victims have still not received compensation.
In light of this, it is proposed to include in the republican budget for 2024 funds for compensation through transfers to local budgets.
In response to this, Jamshid Kuchkarov said that the government has prepared a draft document that will allow khokimiyats to freely use funds from the overfulfilled part of the budget, except in cases where they have arrears of compensation for the seizure of land or demolition of a building.
He also clarified that since 2018, more than 4 trillion soums have been allocated from the state budget for compensation for the demolition of buildings and seizure of land. In 2023, 516.6 billion soums were allocated for these purposes, and in 2024 it is planned to allocate another 500 billion soums.
