Khauzak is ready to increase gas production
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Scheduled preventive maintenance with complete shutdown was successfully completed at Khauzak Gas Production Facility. Works were completed about twenty four hours ahead of schedule that resulted in considerable reduction of planned losses in gas and condensate production.

Package of complex works, including hot and gas dangerous works, was performed in strict compliance with all rules and requirements of industrial safety, labour protection and environment protection and there were no accidents with loss of working time.

Application of new technologies, such as video surveillance system, played an important role in control of scheduled preventive maintenance progress. It enabled Central Engineering Technological Service to keep execution of works under real time control and promptly respond in difficult situations.

Scheduled preventive maintenance with complete shutdown is period, when field suspends operation for check, inspection, repair, maintenance, reengineering or connection of equipment that cannot be executed in the process of operation.

To ensure working order and integrity of equipment the following main works are performed within the framework of scheduled preventive maintenance: scheduled maintenance of equipment; repair and replacement of equipment (in accordance with repair request form); reengineering (expansion of production, replacement of equipment with modern one, preparation of tie-in points for future connections, etc.).

New system of scheduled preventive maintenance planning and control was successfully developed and introduced in “LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company” LLC (LUOC) in 2010. Planning and control system used in LUOC is based on stage by stage planning and efficient coordination of activity of all subdivisions, involved in scheduled preventive maintenance.

Preparing for scheduled preventive maintenance all departments and fields in due time work out issues, related to their scope of works, in particular, purchase of equipment and provision of shutdown works with all required materials, conclusion of contracts for servicing, provision of required special machinery, equipment and tools. All works are executed in strict compliance with approved plan.

Reporting system is developed, it is efficiently used both in the process of preparation and during shutdown. Mechanical and Power Engineering and Metrological Support Section of Service of Deputy Director General for Operations carries out general control and coordination of preparation for scheduled preventive maintenance.

Within the last three years LUOC successfully conducted at Khauzak and Gissar fields several repairs with shutdown. But scheduled preventive maintenance of 2012 is distinguished by its complexity and large scale.

In the process of scheduled preventive maintenance in 2012 7 pressure vessels were inspected, flare tips of high and low pressure flares of Gas Primary Treatment Facility were replaced, in the process of shut-off and control valves replacement a lot of hot works were performed both in the territory of Gas Primary Treatment Facility and at linear parts, full scale scheduled maintenance and repair of equipment at Gas Primary Treatment Facility and multiple well platforms was performed.

Repair with shutdown, conducted in 2012, is special because preparation of 10 tie-in points to be used in future and required for further implementation of the second stage of field construction and modernization of Khauzak block of Dengizkul field were added to the main scope of works.

Tie-in points for future use, made in 2012, will allow to connect additional process equipment and increase field output from current 3 bln. cubic meters per year to 4 bln. cubic meters of gas per year!

Team work of all LUOC subdivisions, involved in scheduled preventive maintenance, made possible its successful completion and Service of Deputy Director General for Operations played key role in it. Upon completion of each scheduled preventive maintenance its results are analyzed and final report is prepared, as well as list of lessons learned.

Due to these procedures after every shutdown measures are developed and implemented to eliminate drawbacks and prevent their occurrence in future. It allows to develop respective database, continuously improve and conduct every next scheduled preventive maintenance with greater efficiency.
