Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Oil Transportation Company of Kazakhstan Kaztransoil plans a significant increase in the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan next year.

According to the company's press service, it is expected that the volume of transit of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan will increase to 500,000 tons in 2024.

Uzbek company Sanoat Energetika Guruhi has already submitted a relevant application, with the possibility of subsequently increasing transit to 1 million tons per year.

By the end of this year, the expected volume of oil transit to Uzbekistan from Russia through the main oil pipelines of Kaztransoil will be 154,000 tons, a significant increase compared to previous periods.

For January-October of this year, Kaztransoil transported 104,000 tons of oil to Uzbekistan.

The transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan through the main oil pipelines of Kaztransoil began in 2017. The transit volume in 2017 was 67,900 tons, in 2018 – 36,000 tons. In 2019-2022, the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan was not carried out.
