Kazakhstani university opened a branch in Chirchik

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kogratbay Sharipov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov attended the presentation of the opening of a branch of the South Kazakhstan Research University named after. M. Auezov in Chirchik, Tashkent region (Auezov University), the press service of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan said.

During the event, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board - Rector of SKU named after M. Auezov, Daria Kozhamzharova, made a presentation on the prospects for opening a branch of a leading university in September 2024.

The presentation also focused on educational programs and plans for the future of Auezov University.

South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov is a large multidisciplinary university of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The university trains specialists in 301 educational programs for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Auezov University with an 80-year history is one of the leading higher education institutions in the field of domestic higher education and science.

The Auezov University branch will provide training for competitive and in-demand personnel in the labor market of Uzbekistan, such as in humanitarian and technical areas, IT technologies, chemical and food engineering.

At the same time, the khokim of the city of Chirchik, Davron Khidoyatov, noted that the university branch in the future will train very important personnel for the industrial needs of the city of Chirchik.

Auezov University plans to train students in the following educational programs: “Economics”; "Jurisprudence"; "International law"; "Biotechnology"; "Ecology"; "Information Systems"; "Automation and control"; "Mechanical Engineering"; “Transport, transport equipment and technologies”; "Electric power"; “Chemical technology of inorganic substances”; “Chemical technology of organic substances”; "Oil and gas business"; "Metallurgy"; "Food Safety and Engineering"; “Technology and design of textile materials”; “Production of building materials, products and structures”; “Life safety and environmental protection.”

The opening of the branch is being implemented as part of the implementation of the points of the “Road Map” in the educational sector, signed following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev to Uzbekistan in December 2022.
