Kazakhstan can supply 800 million cubic meters of gas from Russia to Uzbekistan by the end of the year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Kazakhstan can transit 800 million cubic meters of gas by the end of the year from Russian to Uzbekistan, TASS reported.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Energy, it is expected that about 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied to Uzbekistan from Russia each year.

The Kazakh authorities are considering the possibility of supplying at least 800 million cubic meters of gas until the end of the year from the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliev told reporters about this.

“Now we will see how the regimes go, but at least 800 million cubic meters will be considered as a possible supply of gas,” Satkaliev said, answering a question about the volume of Russian gas transit to Uzbekistan by the end of the year.

According to him, in general, at the initial stage we are talking about supplies of about 2.8 billion cubic meters  of gas. “These are pre-agreed volumes according to the applications of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” explained the head of the department.

On 7 October, the Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched the transit of Russian natural gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan through the Central Asia - Center gas pipeline.
