The two sides signed intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in communications, railway transport, taxes, trade and cultural exchange. Presidents also discussed situation in the Caucasus after military operations in Georgia and possible effects of those events on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Islam Karimov said Uzbekistan stands for peaceful resolution of the conflict and supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
