Karakalpakstan’s economy grows by 9.8%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The gross regional product (GRP) of Karakalpakstan grew by 9.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2012.

The growth of industrial product made up 2.4%, consumer goods – 9.9%, construction materials – 7.6%, trade and catering – 11.2%.

Karakalpakstan used 105.936 billion soums of investments within the state programme “The Year of Family” due to all sources.

In the past six months, Karakalpakstan created 25,398 jobs.
