Kafolat collects insurance premiums for 30.3bn soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kafolat state joint stock insurance company collected insurance premiums for 30.3 billion soums in 2013, which grew by 45.8% year-on-year, the press service of the company said.

The company said that it signed about 629,300 insurance agreements in 2013, of which 531,100 agreements were signed with individuals and 98,200 agreements with legal entities. The company claimed the second place in insurance market on number of signed agreements.

According to the State Inspection for insurance supervision of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan,the share of Kafolat rose from 7.3% in 2012 to 9.2% in 2013. The company was on the fourth place on the volume of collected premiums in Uzbekistan.

The volume of insurance services, rendered by company, mad up 9.512 trillion soums. The growth of insurance liabilities grew by 40.8% year-on-year in 2013.

The company settled 3,191 insurance payouts applications. Each day, the company makes up 8-9 payouts. The volume of payouts in 2013 made up 6.5 billion soums, which rose 2.5 times compared to 2012. The major part of payouts fell to share of mandatory insurance of civil liabilities of the workers, mandatory insurance of civil liabilities of vehicle owners, insurance of pledged property, insurance of cars, insurance of individuals’ property and personal insurance products.

The company said that it collected insurance premiums from individuals at the size of 11.556 billion soums in 2013.

Kafolat noted that its investments reached 28.5 billion soums as of 1 January 2014 and grew by 25.9% year-on-year.

The insurance reserves rose from 18.1 billion soums to 24 billion soums in 2013, or rose by 32.5%, the company said. The insurer handed over liabilities on 485 agreements for 3.528 billion soums to re-insurance.

Kafolat noted that it raised its charter capital to 7.9 million euros in 2013, which will allow to carry out re-insurance activities from 1 January 2014.
