JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan launches new capacities in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A solemn opening ceremony of the plant on production of MAN trucks has been held in Samarkand, central Uzbekistan. JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will produce MAN trucks in Uzbekistan.

In the event, organized in this connection, was attended by the representatives of the joint-stock company Uzavtosanoat and the company MAN Truck & Bus AG (Germany), the regional administration, as well as the general public.

The JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan created on 9 August 2009 in order to enhance the industrial potential of Uzbekistan is the result of cooperation established between joint-stock company Uzavtosanoat and the world-famous company MAN Truck & Bus AG. The activities of the joint venture began with the production of MAN vehicles on the territory of Samarkand automobile plant, UzA reported.

The project of “Production and service range of MAN vehicles” is gradually being implemented since 2011. Industrial and service center of the joint venture JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan was built during the first stage. As a result of construction work conducted in a short period, a modern dealership and service center of the company began operating at the beginning of this year.

Diagnosis and technical maintenance of trucks, repair of their units, mechanical, electrical parts and tires have been established in the center, equipped at the latest level of technical and technological requirements. Area and level of technical equipment of the complex allow serve from 1500 to 4000 large trucks and special vehicles a year. The specialists who have trained in leading Service Centers of MAN Truck & Bus AG in foreign countries to improve their skills, are performing all repair works at a high-quality level.

Construction of a new plant for the production of MAN vehicles with a production capacity of 5,000 trucks per year is the second phase of the project. After commissioning of the second assembly line of the enterprise, it will produce up to 10,000 vehicles.

Overall, it is expected that the capacity of new plant will reach 20,000 units of vehicles a year. The project will be financed due to investments of founders and loans.

The construction of the first stage with the cost of US$29.4 million was conducted due to own resources of founders of the venture – US$27.3 million and foreign investments – US$2.1 million.

The participants got acquainted with the activities on construction and equipment carried out at the plant as well as the conditions created for the workers and employees.
