Jurabek Labotatories launch new line on production of intravenous infusions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Jurabek Labotatories, specializing in production of medical products in Uzbekistan, launched new capacities on production of intravenous infusions in polypropylene vials.

The new line was launched thanks to loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for almost US$5 million.

The company noted that technology on forming vials from propylene granules will help significantly decrease import in production of these products and cut prime cost. The launch of new shop will help to increase localization level to 66%.

The capacity of the new line is 10 million vials per shift. The company plans to acquire over 20%-25% of internal market per shift.

Jurabek Labotatories is plans to export part of products. The company said it established partnership relations with representatives of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Georgia.

Jurabek Laboratories Ltd. was established in 1996 as a second leg of the business of Jurabek Drugstore, the first private pharmacy in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The success of the drugstore and well-established business contacts with medicine suppliers encouraged the owners to set up their own pharmaceutical production in the mid-1990s in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent region.
