Joint projects were discussed with representatives of the German development bank KfW

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov and the Regional Director of the Department of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) Veronica Garcia Del Arco.

The meeting was also attended by Andreas Schneider, Director of the KfW Regional Office in Central Asia, Tulkin Mirzaev, Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Support for Agricultural Reforms, Behruz Karimov, Head of the Public Debt Attraction Department, Marufjon Mirzamakhmudov, Head of the Budget Support Projects Department of the Public Debt Department.

KfW is a German development bank through which the German Federal Government finances investments and related consulting services in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The Bank strives to create and develop social and economic infrastructure in these countries and establish a stable and affordable financial system while ensuring a rational attitude to resources and the environment.

The Bank has been operating in Uzbekistan since 1993. The ongoing activities in Uzbekistan are concentrated on sustainable economic development and healthcare.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current and prospective projects, including the contribution of the German Government to the implementation of the program "Early Development Policy for an inclusive and sustainable market economy".

During the meeting, the parties discussed current projects and issues of financing agricultural projects, energy transformation, and the introduction of information technologies in various industries. Special attention was paid to the issue of financing a project to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the above areas and expand the scope of mutually beneficial projects.
