Jizzakh region to develop tourism sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved a programme of targeted measures on developing of tourism and increasing export potential of tourism services in Jizzakh region for 2011-2012.

In line with the programme, over 12 million soums will be directed to developing tourism in the region, Uzbektourism national company said.

Within the programme, it is planned to construct hotel complexes in center of Zaaming district and Jizzakh city with 50 and 80 rooms respectively. It is also planned to construct national tea house in Nuroniy Park, near hotel complexes Nur and Kristal Nur, as well as roadside infrastructure.

The programme envisages to reconstruct Jizzakh railway station. Besides, it is planned to organize stopover in Jizzakh city of high-speed railway between Tashkent and Samarkand to ensure comfortable transportation services to tourists.

It is also planned to construct roadside infrastructure such as shops, cafes, and other buildings near historic object Amir Temur Gate.

In order to attract tourists to Jizzakh region and popularization of tourism potential of Jizzakh region, the programme envisages to construct touristic base with national houses, named uts.

Tourists can visit reserves, mountainous and desert districts, travel on horse or camel. It is also planned to build touristic base at Tuzkan lake in Arnasay district.

At the same, the progamme envisages to develop ornithological tourism in Aydarkul lake as over 400 types of birds migrate to the region each year.
