Jizzakh region reconstructs water supply system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan is planning to conduct large volume of work to reconstruct water supply and sewage system till 2020.
UzA reported that the region is cooperating with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in this area.
This year, Jizzakh region plans to attract US$26 million of the ADB loan to finance works in the area. In particular, it is planned to improve water supply in sixty villages in such regions as Arnasai, Zafarabad and Dostlik.
The report said that the ADB allocated US$11.5 million to finance the project on improvement water supply system in Jizzakh region in 2006-2010. During the project implementation, some 7.961 billion soums of construction works were conducted and equipment for 3.631 billion soums were installed.
Within new project, it is planned to carry out construction and assembly works for US$19 million and install equipment for US$5.7 million.
It is planned to reconstruct 55 km of water pipeline and 30 km new pipes will be laid.
