JICA to allocate US$200 million for the project “Development of the livestock industry in Uzbekistan”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will allocate US$200 million for the implementation of the project “Development of the livestock industry in Uzbekistan”.

These funds will be used to provide preferential loans to livestock farmers and representatives of the leather industry.

This financial support from JICA helps to increase the export of Uzbek products and also promotes employment in various regions of Uzbekistan.

In particular, US$40 million of the allocated funds will be sent in the form of soft loans to entrepreneurs operating in the field of leather processing and production of finished products.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with JICA Vice President Sachiko Imoto in Tokyo to discuss issues on the implementation of this project.

It should be noted that in 2023, 2.2 thousand projects in the field of livestock farming were successfully implemented in Uzbekistan with a total value of 7.4 trillion soums, as a result of which more than 560 specialized enterprises were launched, thanks to foreign investments.
