Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov held a meeting with the delegation of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) led by the managing director of the bank, head of the Global Funding Group for Infrastructure and environmental protection Hiroki Sekine.

At the meeting, guests got acquainted with the current initiatives of the government of Uzbekistan in the field of environmental protection and discussed plans to improve the environmental situation in the country.

The Japanese side expressed interest in expanding financing for environmentally oriented projects, including the modernization of sewage treatment plants and projects for recycling waste to generate electricity.

The parties also agreed on the further development of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the national project “Yashil Makon”.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to present the planned projects and conduct joint research to assess their potential and impact on the environment.
