Japanese theatre to present their plays in Tashkent, Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Japan’s Noh and Kyogen Theatre will present their short plays in Tashkent and Samarkand cities of Uzbekistan on 23 September and 25 September 2012.

The tour is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. The tour is organized by the Association of Performance Art on Cultural Exchange, Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan at the assistance of Nara NGO, Nogaku Executors Association, Tsukuba University, Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan, State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and Samarkand administration.

Department of culture and information of the Embassy of Japan in Tashkent said that traditional Japanese theatre is difficult and multicolor world and many books and articles were written about each component such as actors mastery, music, scenography, masks, decorations, costumes, make-up, dolls, etc.

The programme includes two plays of Noh Theatre and one scene of Kyogen, the embassy said. At the end of the events, the Uzbek State Chamber Orchestra of national instruments “Sogdiana” will present their works.
