Foreign Minister Ednan Karabaev on Tuesday met with a group of researchers of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

The Japanese researchers arrived in Kyrgyzstan with support of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study issues related to intensification of cooperation between Central Asian countries in use of water and energy resources and to outline ways to facilitate this cooperation by Japan.

Foreign Minister Ednan Karabaev asked Japanese delegation to consider possibility of assistance in monitoring of water resources and emphasized importance of introduction of a certain recording system for water resources at water posts.

Japanese researchers said they met with 40 organizations from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with regard to use of water and energy resources in Central Asia.

Recommendations will be produced for Japan International Cooperation Agency for further assistance for Central Asian countries in this regard based on the results of the study.
