Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has canceled his planned visit to Uzbekistan, Kyodo News reported.

According to the agency, Prime Minister Kishida decided to cancel his four-day trip to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia due to a warning from the Japan Meteorological Agency about a possible major earthquake affecting a wide area of the Pacific region, from the southwestern parts of Japan to the central regions.

The Japan Meteorological Agency issued its first recommendations for areas around the Nankai Trough just hours after a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck southwestern Japan on Thursday.

It should be noted that the Japanese leader had planned to visit Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia from 9 to 12 August 2024.
