Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association held a meeting with a representative of the US Doubletree Capital Bank in Uzbekistan and the chairman of the board of the Japanese company Sankei Holdings. During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the leather and footwear industry and financing of investment projects implemented in our country were discussed.

The leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association provided the Japanese company with detailed information on the reforms of recent years in the Uzbek leather industry, the legal framework, production, investment and export potential of the industry.

The Japanese company Sankei Holdings has been financing large investment projects and supporting exports for many years. To date, it has already provided large-scale financial assistance to more than 15 countries. Now it aims to send funds to the leather and footwear industry of Uzbekistan and export products to countries such as the UK, USA, Turkey, South Korea, France, Germany.

During the meeting, business plans, directions and export markets of ongoing projects were discussed in detail. The company established cooperation with enterprises of our republic and studied proposals for the production in our country of shoe models developed by Japanese designers.

The management of Sankei Holdings also announced that it is ready to finance investment projects implemented in the oil refinery, which are being created in 16 regions. After getting acquainted with the proposed projects and business plans, work on their financing will begin.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Uzcharmsanoat Association and Doubletree Capital Bank in the areas of attracting foreign capital to investment projects, export promotion, and training.
