Within the project, the hospital got cardio monitor devices and other modern medical equipment worth a total of $85,370.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Tsutomu Hiraoka said: “"I think equipping of the Central Hospital of Baisun district will serve to increase of the level of medical services in the regions of Uzbekistan and positively affect the health and lifetime of the population.”
Since 1995, Japanese government has been implementing a no-string aid to grass-root projects in the spheres of education, public health, and increasing the social status of women to improve of the Uzbek population welfare.
During 15 years, 262 projects worth US$15 million were implemented, of which 17 projects worth US$1.6 million were realized in Surkhandarya region.
The government of Japan pays great attention to collaboration with Uzbekistan in the sphere of public health. Since 1994, a total of 8 projects worth $42.4 million were realized.
Besides, Japan has been implementing no-string aid programme in regional and rural hospitals of Uzbekistan. Japan issued US$3.9 million of 55 projects.
