Jalaliddin Mirtajiev replaced Tursunali Kuziev at this post, who has been appointed as Minister of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Jalaliddin Mirtajiev is popular painter and sculptor. He is author of many monuments in Uzbekistan and abroad.

Mirtajiev received honour of People’s artist of Uzbekistan in 2003 in line with the presidential decree. In 2004, he has been awarded with medal of Tokyo Art Museum of Fuji for his contribution to art. In 2009, he has been named as the Sculptor of the Year in Uzbekistan.

He is honourable professor of the Shanghai University and he holds Golden medal of Uzbekistan Art Academy.

His works are stored in museums and private collections in Uzbekistan, Russia, France, Korea, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Latvia.
