Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Asian Taekwondo WT Championship began in Vietnam. One of the members of the Uzbekistan team won the first medal at this tournament.

Jakhongir Khudoiberdiev, competing in the weight category up to 54 kg, won a bronze medal.

In the qualifying stage, an athlete from Uzbekistan defeated taekwondo athletes from Japan and Thailand.

In the semi-finals, Khudoiberdiev lost to Pakistan’s Shahzaib Khan, the leader of the Asian rankings.

Thus, our athlete won bronze.
