Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Izzat Shukurov has been appointed as the head of Yandex Uzbekistan.

He will oversee the development of Yandex’s existing services in the country and create new opportunities for users and businesses in Uzbekistan, leveraging the company’s technologies, products, and international experience.

Prior to joining Yandex, Shukurov managed projects in the fields of technology and e-commerce. He led the Central Asian region for the fintech company Payze and served as the director of Newmax Technologies.

In this role, he helped launch several significant projects in Uzbekistan: the Maxtrack transport management system, the Workly time tracking system, the MyTaxi taxi aggregator, and the Express24 food delivery service.

"For many residents of Uzbekistan, Yandex is associated with convenient urban services that have become an integral part of everyday life. However, Yandex is not only about consumer services but also a key partner for companies and organizations, contributing to the digitalization and modernization of the country’s economy. My task is to find new ways to develop Yandex in Uzbekistan and support the country’s development through the company’s initiatives and projects. Yandex’s educational programs and IT projects are already helping young people from Uzbekistan integrate into the international IT community, and we will work to create even more opportunities," Shukurov said, commenting on his appointment.
