ITOCHU Corporation expressed the interest in developing business in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and Senior Vice Representative for External Affairs ITOCHU Corporation Masahiro Imai held negotiations.

ITOCHU Corporation is a leading trading company ("sogo shosha") that conducts its business in domestic trade, import and export, and engages in overseas trade in various commodities including textiles, metals, minerals, energy, real estate, chemical products, food products, ICT, general merchandise, insurance, logistics, construction, and finance, including investment projects in Japan and overseas.

At the meeting, important issues related to the development of economic sectors in Uzbekistan were discussed. Masahiro Imai expressed ITOCHU Corporation’s deep interest in investments in the country. 

He expressed confidence in Uzbekistan’s high potential and emphasised the company’s readiness to continue to actively participate in its development. In particular, the current situation in the automotive industry was discussed, with special attention paid to the prospects of investments in this sphere.

In addition, during the meeting, the representative of ITOCHU Corporation expressed the interest of Japanese investors in developing business in Uzbekistan and emphasized the company’s readiness to support and develop partnership, especially in the context of investment and cooperation with small businesses.

This meeting was an important step towards strengthening co-operation between Uzbekistan and ITOCHU Corporation. Both sides expressed their intention to continue working and agreed on further steps to realize the discussed plans and ideas.
