The main objects of CIUZ are the developing of relationships between entrepreneurs of Italy and Uzbekistan. The staff of CIUZ Tashkent office has commercial grounding and knowledge of English, Russian, Uzbek and Italian languages, and boasts a long-term cooperation with local organizations and agencies, such as: Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Businessmen Association of Samarkand, Business Women Association, Italian Embassy, local office of ICE (Italian Institute for foreign trade).CIUZ supports regular relations with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome.

Among CIUZ activities, we can list assistance to CIUZ members in the organization of business trips and participation in exhibitions, legal services, translation and interpretation, etc. Very important activity is the organization of missions of Uzbek entrepreneurs to Italy and Italian entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan, with bilateral meetings and visits to enterprises.

In 2007 CIUZ carried out a number of important events. Among them, it may be pointed out the organization of three missions of entrepreneurs, two in Uzbekistan, in March and November, and one in Italy, in October, with the purpose to establish long-term cooperation between entrepreneurs of different sectors (agricultural product processing, textile industry, building materials, jewellery , leather processing, furniture, mechanical equipment).

These missions were organized in Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in Italy with local Chambers of Commerce and involved many cities, such as: Milan, Turin, Monza, Pordenone, Parma and Prato. In May CIUZ took part to the exhibition in Tashkent on agriculture named Agrominitech Expo 2007, and in November, in cooperation with the Uzbek Embassy, organized a visit of delegation of Uzbek bankers.

Besides CIUZ provides active support to the European Union Program on Managers Training (MTP), aimed to professional training of managers coming from Russian Federation, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

Our Chamber took active part in the III Meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group on Economical Cooperation in Tashkent in November parallel to the Mission of entrepreneurs. Italian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade.

In these first five years of activity, CIUZ has considerably studied economical situation, and maintained continuous contacts with state authorities and enterprises of Uzbekistan.

Mr. Luigi Iperti, President of the Chamber, promoted and sponsored personally the establishment of strong relationships with ministers, agencies and enterprises of different field of activity.
