Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation, currently in London for the Call & Contact Centre Expo 2024, held a series of productive meetings with leading British tech companies to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
During negotiations with Ayodele Popoola, founder of Onyx International, the possibilities of developing innovative business models for export were explored. Onyx International, a U.S.-based company with 30 years of experience in blockchain technology, expressed interest in opening an office in Uzbekistan to transfer technologies, attract investments, and create jobs.
With Asila Akbarova, co-founder of Yumee App Software, discussions focused on the "Zero Risk" program by IT Park Uzbekistan, aimed at minimizing investment risks for IT companies. As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached to open a Yumee App Software office in Uzbekistan and hire local developers. Yumee App Software, which provides solutions for restaurants and delivery services, has offices in Turkey and London.
The meeting with Enqura’s manager, Gary Bernstein, was dedicated to potential cooperation and investment opportunities. IT Park representatives presented residency opportunities and programs to support international business. Gary Bernstein, an expert in corporate growth and international expansion, showed interest in exploring Enqura’s expansion into Uzbekistan in spring 2025. Enqura, a Turkish company with 100 employees, offers IT services and solutions in digital transformation and cloud services.
Other companies like KOMPaaS.tech GmbH, RingCentral, BlueStrawberry AI, and Canterbury AI also expressed interest in Uzbekistan. KOMPaaS.tech GmbH, a telecom services provider, has already registered a legal entity in Uzbekistan and is preparing an IT-Visa application. RingCentral, a major U.S. company in cloud business communications, is particularly interested in expanding into Central Asia and recruiting local multilingual specialists.
Dr. Bing Tian, founder of BlueStrawberry AI and co-founder of Canterbury AI, expressed interest in relocating their companies’ headquarters to Uzbekistan, recognizing the country’s potential and IT Park’s opportunities. BlueStrawberry AI specializes in AI-driven social media management solutions, while Canterbury AI focuses on software development to enhance healthcare efficiency. Uzbek specialists are expected to be involved in these projects soon.
These meetings highlight the growing interest in Uzbekistan as a promising market for international IT companies. Successful collaboration with these companies will contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s IT sector, the creation of high-paying jobs, and strengthening the country’s position in the global IT market. The discussions also open new avenues for technological progress, investment attraction, and the export of Uzbek IT services.
