Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Executive Director Abdulkahad Kuchkarov, met with representatives from the Korean Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT), headed by Changhee Lee, Vice Chairman and CEO, to discuss the development of bilateral relations and further cooperation in the information technology sector.
KAIT, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), was founded in 1987. It provides political support for advancing the digital and ICT industries, implements joint projects, and serves as a bridge between the government and industry. KAIT’s mission is to promote national digital development and enhance public welfare through collaboration and strengthening its membership.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IT Park Uzbekistan and KAIT. The goal of the memorandum is to deepen cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations through experience exchange, exploring business opportunities, and promoting ICT activities in both the Korean and Uzbek markets.
According to the memorandum, IT Park Uzbekistan and KAIT will facilitate experience exchange between the two industries, support the attraction of IT companies to both countries, and stimulate IT outsourcing and services worldwide. The agreement also provides for expanding business opportunities for participants in both countries, as well as exchanging administrative and technical personnel, consultants, and experts.
Furthermore, both organizations will collaborate on promoting marketing events, such as exhibitions (e.g., World IT Show), conferences, forums, and other events.
This cooperation is expected to act as a catalyst for strengthening bilateral relations, stimulating growth in the IT industries of both countries. With its multilingual and talented workforce and a literacy rate of 99%, Uzbekistan’s human capital is a key asset. Attracting Korean technology companies will help create jobs in Uzbekistan, and collaboration with the more developed Korean IT industry will allow local specialists to enhance their skills and increase their market value.
