IT-PARK branch opened in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 21 December 2020, an opening ceremony of the IT Park branch was held in Samarkand.

The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications O. Pekos and the khokim of Samarkand region E. Turdimov.

The IT Park branch has all the conditions for the work of IT specialists, freelancers, start-up teams, as well as for training young people.

The area of the Samarkand branch of IT Park is 1118 square meters. It has coworking spaces, office space for residents and startups, classrooms, robotics and e-sports rooms, meeting rooms, a conference room, an interview area, and a cafe.

It should be noted that fruitful work in the field of ICT has been done in the Samarkand region in recent years. And the IT Park branch created in Samarkand will create opportunities to increase interest among young people in information and communication technologies, to increase the efficiency and scale of IT entrepreneurship through preferences in this area, will become a link between business and production for implementation and start-up projects, implementation of developed software products in the economy and other areas.

The IT Park branch will cooperate with legal entities operating in the field of ICT, higher educational institutions, a specialized school for in-depth study of computer science and information technology, organized at secondary school No. 9 in the city of Samarkand.

Also, the branch will operate training centers created in each city and districts of the region. Currently, 6 such centers have been created in cities and districts of the Samarkand region. By the end of the year, 4 more Digital Technologies Training Centers will be opened. These centers will operate in the areas of information and communication technologies, robotics, e-sports. In particular, they will organize training courses within the framework of the One Million Programmers project, implemented by Uzbekistan in cooperation with the UAE.

Within the framework of the organization of a branch of the technopark, it is planned to create 50 new IT enterprises, 200 jobs, as well as implement more than 100 start-up projects.
