Issyk-Kul receives the first tourists from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan, together with tourist companies, launched a direct charter flight to Issyk-Kul Tashkent-Tamchi-Tashkent.

Uzbekistan Airways will operate the flight during the summer tourist season – from the end of June to 6 September 2019.

The embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan, the tourist Kyrgyz company INSPIRO TRAVEI, the Uzbek tourist company AZIA LUXE TRAVEI, and the national airline Uzbekistan Airways contributed to the realization of this event.

The first charter flight Tashkent-Tamchi arrived 133 tourists. It is expected that for the upcoming summer season, up to three thousand Uzbeks will use it, wishing to relax on the famous Issyk-Kul lake. Guests were greeted by Maksat Damir uulu, Director of the Tourism Department of Kyrgyzstan, Sardor Saydirasulov, representative of the Uzbekistan State Committee for Tourism Development, Gary Linden, Director of USAID Mission in Kyrgyzstan, and Danir Imanaliev, Akim of Issyk-Kul District.

In the summer season of 2019, 11 charter flights are scheduled, which will be operated weekly on Thursdays from the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport. It should be noted that the flight time is 1 hour 30 minutes.

“Flights on the route Tashkent - Tamchi - Tashkent will be operated once a week on Thursdays. As part of the launch of the flight, it is planned to hold an information tour for representatives of the mass media of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan,” the Uzbek ministry said.

According to the Department of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, over the past year, 3 million 295 thousand 804 people arrived from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic. About 3 million 206 thousand 830 people travelled from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.

The achieved level of bilateral relations is the result of the meeting of the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on 24 December 2016 in Samarkand, which set the tone for close cooperation and mutual assistance for the further prosperity of the two neighboring states and peoples.
