Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 June, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Iskandar Kutbiddinov and Sanjay Shrivastav, manager of the global environmental practice in the Europe and Central Asia region of the World Bank.

During the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in developing bilateral cooperation in the environmental sector. Guests were presented with information about the work carried out by the government of Uzbekistan in the field of environmental protection, institutional reform of environmental agencies, improving monitoring and improving the state of atmospheric air quality.

Also the sides considered analysis of air quality management systems in Uzbekistan, conducting modern air pollution modeling to determine the sources of PM2.5 fine particle concentrations in Tashkent, and assessing the impact of environmental pollution on human health.

During the negotiations, it was proposed to hold consultations with stakeholders to develop a roadmap to improve the quality of life in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the development of joint projects aimed at protecting the environment.
