Issues of opening a trading house of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in the city of Port Said were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 August, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov held online negotiations with Deputy Governor of Port Said Said Amro Usman and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Port Said Muhammad Saada.

Also, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt M.Kilichev, Trade Attaché of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt Sh.Yakubov, as well as representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan took part in the negotiations.

During the negotiations, the Uzbek side proposed to consider opening a trading house of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in Port Said, which, in turn, can serve as a hub for the import and export of Uzbek-Egyptian goods and services. In turn, when implementing the CCI initiative, it will also be possible to further export goods from Uzbekistan to the countries of Africa, Europe and Asia.

Amr Usman, for his part, expressed interest in the implementation of the above project and said that the import of Uzbek goods to Egypt, Africa and Europe through Port Said is the most acceptable option, since Port Said has all the necessary conditions for logistics, warehousing, transport communications and privileges for foreign investment. Moreover, there is a special investment law and the Special Economic Zone, which plays a significant role in the import, export and re-export of goods and services.

In conclusion, Amr Usman assured that the Governorate of Port Said would provide all possible assistance for the implementation of initiatives to create a Trading House of the CCI.

Mohammed Saada highly appreciated the intentions of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to open a trading house in Egypt and informed that the Eastern Port Said is the most attractive for the import and export of goods, taking into account logistics, transit and other preferences.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to establish a joint working group for a detailed study of all the implications for the creation of a trading house and put the project into operation.
