Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in the Tashkent khokimiyat aimed at improving the road transport system.

This meeting was attended by representatives of the khokimiyat, Tashkent Invest JSC, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Chinese company CRRC Group, UNDP and the Ministry of Transport.

Participants discussed issues of optimizing public transport, increasing the share of vehicles using green fuel, expanding micromobility and creating convenience for passengers and drivers.

During the event, the project “Strengthening the attraction of investments in low-carbon transport in Tashkent”, developed with the support of GEF and UNDP, was presented. The project is aimed at creating a green transport corridor on one of the main streets of the capital.

Also, representatives of the CRRC Group presented information about the vehicles they produce, including wheeled trams, and proposed their integration into the city’s transport system.

The parties agreed to continue working together to find the best solutions in the field of transport.
