Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 September, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade with a delegation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe headed by Walter Nissler, Head of the EEC Transport Department.

The meeting discussed topical issues of further strengthening the transit and transport potential of Uzbekistan in the interests of sustainable growth in international trade, strengthening the security of freight and passenger traffic along the country’s transport corridors.

The possibilities of attracting foreign investment in projects to develop the sector of small and international business in the field of logistics, digitalization of the transport system, as well as the creation of roadside infrastructure facilities were considered.

In order to synchronize these events in the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, an agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the Working Group of the countries participating in the SPECA program on 26-27 October 2022 in Tashkent with the support of the UNECE.
