Issues of development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 December this year, as part of a working visit of a government delegation to Astana, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov. 

The focus was on the implementation of the instructions of the Heads of the two states, given following the results of the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan.

Alikhan Smailov stressed that as a result of the visit, breakthrough agreements were reached in all priority areas of bilateral cooperation. Their implementation is detailed in a specially developed Roadmap, which will give impetus to the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the republics.

The parties noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral trade, the active deepening of interaction between the business circles of the two countries. The importance of government-level support for initiatives to develop and implement new joint projects was emphasized.

During the talks, other topical issues of bilateral cooperation were also discussed. The Uzbek side emphasized the readiness of the government of Uzbekistan to work productively in close cooperation with the government of Kazakhstan to achieve common goals and objectives in priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed the Roadmap for the implementation of the agreements reached following the negotiations between the presidents of the two countries on 21-22 December 2022. From the Uzbek side, this document will be signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
