Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 February 2023, a meeting of the working group on the development of agricultural consultations in the AKIS system was held at the World Bank country office in Uzbekistan.

The participants discussed further practical measures to continue piloting an agro-advisory service for farmers in the Fergana, Samarkand and Tashkent regions, as well as the establishment of AKIS centers in selected areas of these regions.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the International Strategic Center for Development and Research in Food and Agriculture Sherzod Mirkomilov, coordinator of the project "Modernization of agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan" Otabek Mansurov, consultant of the project "Modernization of agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan" Murod Rasulov, Deputy Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture (AKIS) Gairat Ganiev, UNDP project consultant Hrvoye Ivan Horvath, EU ASK Facility project manager Adrian Nil, EU ASK Facility project consultant David Kahan, head of the project management office under the Ministry of Agriculture Ekaterina Danilchenko, consultant project management office Andrey Polyansky and team leader of the World Bank project "Modernization of agriculture in the Republic of Uzbekistan" Bayarsaikhan Tumurdava.
