Issues of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 March 2025, a meeting took place in Tashkent between Otabek Mamatkarimov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on International Relations, and David Kotaria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism-related collaboration. Both sides emphasized their commitment to developing tourism, exchanging expertise, and training specialists in the field.
A key topic of the meeting was the upcoming 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, set to take place in Tashkent from April 5 to 9. The event is expected to gather around 2,000 parliamentarians from nearly 190 countries.
Ambassador Kotaria confirmed that Georgia will send a delegation to the assembly, led by Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili.
