Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan with the leadership of the Latvian Agricultural College. During the dialogue, the focus was on cooperation with the M. Mirzaev Research Institute, the creation of a laboratory on its basis and the expansion of contacts in the field of food safety.

Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture Eshmirza Abdualimov, acquainted the guests with the progress of research work in the field of agriculture in Uzbekistan. From our side, the negotiations were attended by the head of the personnel department of the Ministry of Agriculture Umida Saidova, as well as in an online format, adviser to the minister Alisher Shukurov.

The event discussed issues of organizing joint work on micropropagation of horticultural and ornamental crops, enriching the gene pool of horticultural crops of the two countries. The moments of creation and improvement of the laboratory of agrochemistry and molecular biology of fruit crops and grapes are considered in detail, in connection with which it is proposed to use the support of the Latvian side in its international accreditation.

The issue of the exchange of young scientists of the two countries in the field of horticulture, viticulture, nursery farming, cultivation of virus-free seedlings, processing and storage of products and other areas was also considered. The Latvian delegation also visited the Research Institute named after M. Mirzaev and got acquainted with the activities of the institution.
