Issue of organizing the Advisory Council on Tourism within the framework of ECO has been considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is currently hosting the international event "Shahrisabz — the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization".

On 26 April, a meeting was held with the participation of the secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organization and official representatives of the member countries of the organization to discuss the creation of the Advisory Council on Tourism.

This initiative, proposed by the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, received support from the leaders of all member countries of the ECO.

At today’s consultations, officials discussed the importance of creating the Advisory Council on Tourism and the multilateral projects that will be implemented within its framework.

"I am confident that this initiative will be an important achievement for the organization and will serve as a key element in promoting tourism directions at the regional and global levels. We have identified various goals for the development of the tourism sector within the ECO, including the promotion of tourism products, standardization of services, and strengthening the involvement of the private sector," emphasized Husrav Noziri, the Secretary-General of the ECO, at the meeting.

"The creation of the Advisory Council on Tourism will help us in many ways. Firstly, it will serve as a unifying platform for various working groups, network events, and initiatives in the field of tourism. Secondly, a consultation mechanism will be implemented, which will allow synchronizing the work of the tourism administrations of the ECO member countries, the private sector, and other industry participants. Thirdly, it will become a channel for rapid feedback and for identifying common problems, a platform for new growth points and future large-scale collaborations," said Umid Shadiyev.
