Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 March, Uzbekistani boxer Israil Madrimov became according to the World Boxing Association (WBA) world champion.
In the fight for the world title, the Uzbek fighter met with Russian Magomed Kurbanov in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Israil Madrimov started the fight at a high pace, but in the fourth round he began to lose the initiative. However, in the fifth round he was again able to gain the upper hand and dominate the ring, driving his opponent into a corner.
As a result of a series of unanswered blows, the referee stopped the fight and announced a knockout.
The representative of Uzbekistan won the WBA world super middleweight title.
