Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Israel has ratified Uzbekistan’s application to join the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel said in a statement.

Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev signed a corresponding document.

The document was signed within the framework of the World Trade Organization conference held in the UAE.

“Strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries opens up great opportunities for Israeli companies,” said Nir Barkat.

It should be noted that joining the organization requires the consent of all WTO member states.
