Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has congratulated Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, on the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations established between our two countries.

In his letter, Islam Karimov notes that he considers France a great power with which Uzbekistan is tied with traditionally friendly and partnership bonds. The head of our state expresses high appreciation of the dynamics of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation underway between our two nations.

“I would like to convey my full support to Your belief that these relations wield a good potential, that they can and should advance even further, primarily in consolidating the democratic foundations in our country and modernization efforts, in providing for stability and security in the region,” Uzbekistan’s leader stresses.

Islam Karimov has wished a sound health and new successes to Nicolas Sarkozy, along with progress and prosperity to the friendly people of France.

Also, the French leader underscores his country’s willingness to provide Uzbekistan with more support in the modernization process. According to him, the two states can interact more closely toward bolstering regional stability.
