Islam Karimov and Tony Tan Keng Yam exchange congratulations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of the Republic of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam have exchanged greeting letters on the fifteenth anniversary of diplomatic relations established between the two countries.
Singapore recognized the independence of Uzbekistan in April 1992. The diplomatic relations were established on 8 April 1997.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore has been operating since October 2007.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, trade turnover between two states made up US$101.8 million in 2011 against US$178 million in 2010.
