Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Investigative actions will be taken on the fact of restricting access to some social networks. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.

“On the instructions of the President, the head of the State Inspection for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications, Golibsher Ziyaev, was relieved of his post for erroneous and uncoordinated actions,” Asadov wrote.

“Investigative actions will be carried out on the incident. According to the results of the investigation, appropriate measures of responsibility will be applied against all responsible leaders responsible for the incident,” he added.

The State Inspectorate for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications (Uzkomnazorat) restricted access to the social networks Moy Mir, Odnoklassniki, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the Telegram messenger.

Uzkomnazorat notes that these social networks and messengers violate the law on the storage and processing of personal data of Uzbek citizens. They store and process personal data of Uzbek citizens outside of Uzbekistan.
