International Theatre Festival to be held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – This fall, Tashkent will host an International Theatre Festival, bringing together renowned touring productions and vibrant performances from theaters across Uzbekistan.

The festival will open on 4 October at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre with the production "Einstein and Margarita," directed by Alexander Marin. This play, featuring Ksenia Rappoport and Alexey Serebryakov, will present audiences with a story about love and the atomic bomb.

On 7 October, the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre named after Alisher Navoi will stage a concert-performance titled "Say That You Love Me," directed by Sergey Sotnikov, starring Darya Moroz, Evgeny Tsyganov, and composer and conductor Petr Dranga. The festival will continue on October 9 with the Russian Youth Academic Theatre’s production "The Son," directed by Yuri Butusov, based on Florian Zeller’s play.

The festival program will also include performances by Tashkent theaters, such as "The Five Wives of Efendi," "Listen to the Poet" based on the stories of Abdulla Qodiriy, and "The Pranks of Maskarabas" based on a play by Hamza.
