Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Open Asian Cup in judo among cadets and youth started today in Tashkent, in which 245 athletes from six countries take part.
The opening ceremony was held in the sports complex "Universal". The event was attended by representatives of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, sports communities and the media.
Speaking, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Jasur Matchanov wished the young athletes good luck.
“The traditional tournament dedicated to the memory of our talented judoka Uchkun Muradov plays an important role in the national sport. Every year, thanks to this large-scale event, we find talented athletes, discover new names. Coaches have the opportunity to evaluate the skills of their players, to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and athletes are motivated to be even better. I wish all the participants of the Open Asian Cup good luck and victories,” Jasur Matchanov noted.
