Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov held bilateral meetings with his foreign colleagues as part of the international conference on food security in Samarkand.

In particular, at a meeting with the Minister of Municipalities and Environment of Qatar Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaya, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation. Aziz Voitov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Arab countries in the agricultural sector has been strong since ancient times, and Uzbek-Qatari relations occupy a special place in them.

The Qatari side expressed its readiness to cooperate in the development of livestock farming and ensuring food security. The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, who gratefully accepted this initiative, in turn proposed to establish bilateral cooperation in the production of fruits and vegetables. It was accepted by the Minister of Municipalities and Environment of Qatar and it was decided that all appropriate measures will be taken to implement the plans.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Municipalities and Environment of Qatar Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaya invited Minister Aziz Voitov and representatives of the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan to take part in the international exhibition “Qatar Expo”, which will be held in Qatar in October.

The Samarkand conference continues, and on its margins there are bilateral meetings filled with specifics and constructive dialogues.
