Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 August 2023, a solemn ceremony of awarding grants was held at the International Agricultural University (IAU). The event celebrated the academic success of talented students and provided an opportunity to recognize their dedication to agriculture.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Slawomir Wroblewski, Vice-Chancellor of the IAU, warmly welcomed all the students and guests and introduced the outstanding personalities present at the event. IAU Rector Dr. Munira Aminova delivered a welcoming speech and encouraged students to strive for excellence in their studies. 

The event featured distinguished guest speakers who shared their valuable insights with the audience. Denise Waddingham, Director of the British Council, stressed the importance of international cooperation in the field of agriculture. Temur Akhmedov, director of LEED AP and founder of the NGO Green Building Council of Uzbekistan, delivered a compelling speech emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in the agricultural industry.

The ceremony continued with inspiring speeches by eminent professors Bakhtiyor Abdusattorov, Carlos Martinez and Dinara Muzafarova, who highlighted the crucial role of education and research in shaping the future of agriculture. Muhammad Umar Aslam, International Recruiting Manager, introduced the students to the international clubs, talking about the varied and rich extracurricular activities offered by the IAU. The most poignant moment came when the newly awarded students took the stage to share their thoughts and experiences. Their dedication and commitment to excellence in agriculture resonated with the audience and inspired everyone present.

The event was also attended by Alisher Shukurov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who emphasized the importance of developing the potential of youth in shaping the future of the country’s agriculture. The culmination of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates, where about 75 students were awarded for special achievements. Each student received a congratulatory handshake and was photographed symbolizing the well-deserved recognition.

At the end of the ceremony, students wishing to receive a hostel received valuable information and assistance from the manager Ulugbek Kurbanov and the head of the department of social and civil life of students Ravshan Asamov, who ensured a smooth and convenient submission of documents. The event ended with the signing of an agreement, where, on behalf of students under the age of 18, their parents or legal guardians were present, confirming their readiness to begin an exciting educational journey at IAU.
