Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan registered a decree of the Interior Ministry “On approval of instruction on permanent residence in Tashkent and Tashkent region” on 4 May 2012. The document came into force on 14 May.

New instruction was developed in line with the law “On list of category of persons – citizens of Uzbekistan, subject to permanent residency in Tashkent city and Tashkent region” and the resolution of the Cabinet on implementation of the law from 16 February 2012. The law came into force on 14 September 2011.

The law envisages providing permanent residence in Tashkent and Tashkent region to 12 categories of citizens. Others, which do not meet requirements of these 12 categories, will not be able to receive permanent residence in Tashkent and Tashkent region.

The instruction approves list of documents, which is required to be submitted by persons, included to 12 categories, to receive permanent residence in Tashkent and Tashkent region. The instruction includes samples of applications and other documents.

The document said that those, who received permanent residence in Tashkent and Tashkent region, will get stamps in their passports.
